Burn Education Resources from the Burn Model System:
Free Resources Grounded in Evidence and Expert Consensus Offered by the
Burn Model Systems and Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center
The Burn Model Systems (BMS) and Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC) offer free plain-language resources that support people with burn injury during recovery and daily living activities. Popular resources include factsheets that are based on evidence and expert consensus. These resources undergo professional and consumer reviews to ensure quality and readability. Factsheets are available in both English and Spanish. The BMS and MSKTC also offer Quick Reviews, which are plain language summaries of research articles published through the Burn Model Systems program. People with burn injury and their loved-ones, along with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and others who support them, can access factsheets and Quick Reviews on the MSKTC website at http://www.msktc.org/burn. Both the BMS and MSKTC are funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). NIDILRR is operated under the Administration for Community Living in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
